How does our renovation Process work?
Choosing a renovation expert can be daunting with so much to consider, such as “is the building work guaranteed?”, or “will the trades be managed?” and “Do I have someone to communicate with daily?”
Bathrooms by Design has over 20 years’ experience in Bathroom Contracting, we have perfected a low risk Process that covers all those intimidating questions and simplifies the entire process in simple steps, giving you peace of mind with your next bathroom renovation project.
Step 1 : design
- We conduct an on-site visit with a building professional to visualise your space and bathroom dreams, and to ensure we maximise the use of space to achieve the best possible result.
- Complete your selections in our luxury showroom with one of our experienced showroom consultants to handpick the bathroomware and tiles for you to best suit your style, budget and design requirements.
- Your renovation quotation is presented and reviewed with you in two simplified components, the labour quote and the bathroomware supply quote. We will finalise any other queries or ideas you might have for your dream bathroom.
- The Products you have selected in our showroom will be delivered directly to site in time for day one of your renovation.
Step 2 : Manage
- Once your deposit is paid your stunning new bathroomware is ordered and arranged to be delivered to our showroom.
- We confirm your start date and you arrange a delivery date of your tiles to ensure you have your desired tiles on site at the required time.
- Your new bathroomware arrives at our showroom and balance payment is collected.
- Your start date is here and your renovation supervisor introduces themselves on site and explains in detail your renovation overview.
Step 3 : Construct
Demolition
Removal of the existing bathroom, including tiles, fixtures and fittings, ready for the renovation to begin.
First Fix Carpentry
Structural carpentry, framing, nib walls or niches and any required alterations to the bathroom layout.
First Fix Plumbing
Installation and relocation of plumbing, wastes and pipework required for the new bathroom layout.
First Fix Electrical
Electrical first fix, including wiring for lighting, exhaust fans, power points, heated towel rails and underfloor heating where applicable.
Wall Linings / Render
Installation of wall linings and preparation of walls, including rendering where required.
Screed
Floor screeding and preparation of the required falls
Waterproofing
Professional waterproofing of the required wet areas in accordance with Australian Standards and manufacturer specifications.
Floor Tiling
Installation of the selected floor tiles, including ensuring correct falls to wastes.
Wall Tiling
Installation of the selected wall tiles, feature tiles and niches.
Cornice
Installation of cornice once tiling completed
Second Fix Plumbing
Installation and connection of vanty,tapware, wastes, toilets, basins, shower fittings and other plumbing fixtures.
Second Fix Electrical
Installation of switches, power points, lights, exhaust fans, heated towel rails and other electrical fittings.
Install Fittings
Installation of the mirrors, shower screen, accessories and remaining bathroom fixtures and fittings.
Final Clean
A thorough builders clean to remove construction dust, grout residue and other building materials, leaving the new bathroom ready to use.
Handover
Final inspection, completion of any final touch-ups and handover of the newly renovated bathroom.
